Bookshop
Trek Wireless recently created a large scale virtual tour of Blackwell’s flagship Oxford Bookshop including the world famous Norrington Room. Blackwell’s online bookshop is fully integrated so that visitors to the ‘virtual bookshop’ are only a click away from the relevant section of the online store. Tom Cox, Blackwell's Head of Online commented "At the start of the project Trek Wireless spent a lot of time getting to know us as a business and understanding what we wanted to achieve with the virtual tour. Since launching in March we've seen a sustained increase in the amount of time visitors spend on the web site. The tour has proved to be an excellent way of cross marketing both our online and physical shops. As Trek Wireless’ virtual tour technology supports both flash and html5 we also have a ‘future proof’ solution that works on PC, tablet and mobile devices." |

2010 - Army & Navy Club
The Army & Navy Club is located in Pall Mall and was founded in 1837. The Club was formed to meet the needs of the many army officers wanting to join a Service Club, most of which were already full. The great Duke of Wellington said he would become neither a patron nor a Member unless membership was also offered to officers of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. Hence, the "Army Club" became the Army and Navy Club. Today the club has extensive conference and Banqueting facilities which are available for hire. During 2010 the club embarked on a major redesign of their web site in order to promote the facilities to a wider audience. Trek Wireless was commissioned to create virtual tours and a library of still images for use in online and printed media. Sharon Taylor, Events & Marketing Manager commented "We have really enjoyed working with Trek Wireless. They spent a lot of time getting to know the venue and worked closely with us to ensure each room looked its best when photographed. Having one supplier able to provide both virtual tours and still images was another big plus point for us. Trek Wireless were very flexible, fitting in with our busy hire schedule, even coming in at ten in the evening to photograph a candle lit dining room! After completing the photography they then worked closely with our retained web design company to quickly get the virtual tours online. The virtual tours of the Army & Navy Club look stunning and we have seen an increase in inquiries since launching them. We would not hesitate to recommend Trek Wireless to other venues"

2009 - Trek Wireless works with Navman/MiO to make electric charging points
easier to find in London
Trek Wireless has partnered with MiO Technology a global leader in navigation devices to make available geotagged images of public electric car charging points (Juice Points) in Westminster, London. Users of MiO and Navman satellite navigation devices can register at the NavPix web site and then download the geotagged images (created by Trek Wireless) to their MiO satnav units. Once the images are downloaded the driver simply selects the image of the Juice Point they need to find and the MiO satnav unit provides driving directions to the location embedded in the picture. This approach provides a visual reference, saves time and removes the need to enter street names or post codes. Using a combination o geotagged images and our virtual tour technology, Trek Wireless has also create an interactive map based on Microsoft’s bing maps platform making it easy to visualise and find charging point locations in London. Ensuring that charging points can be easily located will be essential in order to support the growing interest in electric vehicles and the demand for infrastructure to support them. Trek Wireless has been a preferred supplier of geotagged ground level PoI imagery to Navman/MiO since 2006. |
