The BDA commissioned Trek Wireless to create virtual tours of the meeting facilities and also to design a micro site (www.bda.org/venue) that showcases the extensive facilities. Rahul Dass the BDA’s Venue Manager commented “following the completion of our refurbishment programme we wanted to find an effective way of promoting our facilities online. Often potential hirers may be some distance away or don’t have time to visit us in advance of a booking. The new web site provides a wealth of information on 64 Wimpole Street, letting visitors view our rooms online in a realistic way and easily find further information about the facilities on offer”. |

2009 - Trek Wireless works with Navman/MiO to make electric charging points
easier to find in London
Trek Wireless has partnered with MiO Technology a global leader in navigation devices to make available geotagged images of public electric car charging points (Juice Points) in Westminster, London. Users of MiO and Navman satellite navigation devices can register at the NavPix web site and then download the geotagged images (created by Trek Wireless) to their MiO satnav units. Once the images are downloaded the driver simply selects the image of the Juice Point they need to find and the MiO satnav unit provides driving directions to the location embedded in the picture. This approach provides a visual reference, saves time and removes the need to enter street names or post codes. Using a combination o geotagged images and our virtual tour technology, Trek Wireless has also create an interactive map based on Microsoft’s bing maps platform making it easy to visualise and find charging point locations in London. Ensuring that charging points can be easily located will be essential in order to support the growing interest in electric vehicles and the demand for infrastructure to support them. Trek Wireless has been a preferred supplier of geotagged ground level PoI imagery to Navman/MiO since 2006. |
